Expressive paintings by Yuriy Savchenko, a Ukrainian artist who lived last years of his life in Detroit, MI, are bright, full of life and open a window for the viewer into vibrant scene depicted by the artist. This painting was executed by Savchenko at his studio in Kramatorsk. The building where the artist's studio was located got destroyed during Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2014, along with numerous paintings. This particular painting depicts Pecherska Lavra in Kyiv. Oil on canvas, framed, it is in excellent condition. It was acquired directly from the artist in Kharkiv in 2007.
