Abraham Manievich

Was a Ukrainian painter, one of the founders of the Ukrainian Academy of Art in Kyiv in 1917. He studied in 1901-1905 in Kyiv Art College in the studio of I. Seleznov and then in Munich Academy of Art in 1905-1906. Manievich became a professor of decorative landscape studios at the Kyiv Art Academy in 1917. He immigrated in 1920 and settled in New York in 1922. The artist settled in the Bronx and befriended David Burliuk. The artist died in 1942 in New York.
